The Society is proud to announce that the new radio shack is now
virtually finished and available for use by members and visitors (on proof of
licence) and was officially opened by the original founder member Walter Farrar
G3ESP and our oldest active member John Carter G7JTH in the presence of fifty or
so guests and members including the President of the RSGB, Colin Thomas G3PSM
and the entire regional management team including Harold Scrivens G0UGE, Wayne
Moult M0WLM, Mario Brashill G2DPA and others.
A photographer from the The Wakefield Express was also in attendance.
At the opening, the Society was presented with a Certificate of
Merit for the recent RSGB Region 4 Award and a rather nice silver platter to
commemorate the sixty years of service that the Society has given to Amateur
Radio and Radio Amateurs in the Wakefield and district.
